HST Southbound Express AWS

Take the controls of this southbound HST service from York to London, calling at Doncaster, Grantham and Peterborough.

All Junctions are under signalbox control, so you can concentrate on driving the train, obeying the signals and speed limits, and stopping in the right place in the platforms.

When you encounter restrictive signal aspects, you will need to acknowledge the warnings given to you by the AWS system, otherwise it will stop the train.

This HST is in 'as built' condition, and has not yet been fitted with door interlocks. Because of this you will need to hold the train still in the platforms until the guard gives you the 'Right Away' - any unexpected movement while the train is in the platform may cause injury to passengers. Please note: It is entirely likely that the platform starter signal is cleared before the guard gives you the 'Right Away', as the signalman may be many miles away, and does not know when the passengers have finished boarding.
