SJ E9 1760 sway

Halmstad Nässjö Railways (HNJ) ordered 6 pieces, 3-cylinder steam engines (3 pieces in 1931 and 3 in 1936) for the increased freight traffic, and in particular for the iron ore shipments from Småland Taberg to Halmstad for export. Shipment was big in the early 1940's and lasted until 1966.
The ore trains could be up to 1000 ton. These steam engines were also used as passenger locomotives between Halmstad and Nässjö and especially when the trains were heavy. The locomotives had to run at maximum 71 km / h and pulling power set to 12.1 Mp.
When SJ took over HNJ in 1945 the locomotives were renamed to E9, and was so appreciated by SJ so that 10 pieces of new locomotives (E10) were ordered in 1947.
The E9 locomotives remained stationed in southern Sweden until they were scrapped in the mid-1970s.

Halmstad-Nässjö Järnvägar (HNJ) beställde 6 stycken 3-cylindriga ånglok (3 st år 1931 och 3 st år 1936) till den utökade godstrafiken och då bl.a för järnmalms tranporter från Smålands Taberg till Halmstad för export. Utskeppningen var stor i början av 1940 talet och höll sedan på periodvis fram till upphörandet på 1960-talet.
Malmtågen kunde bli upp till 1000 ton tunga. Dessa ånglok gick också som persontågslok mellan Halmstad och Nässjö och speciellt då tågen var tunga. Loken fick framföras i max 71 km/tim och dragkraft satt till 12,1 Mp.
Då SJ övertog HNJ 1945 omlittererades loken till E9 och blev så uppskattade av SJ så att 10 stycken nya lok (E10) beställdes 1947.

E9 loken förblev stationerade i södra Sverige tills de skrotades i mitten av 1970-talet.
