SJ S1 1922 sway

The S1 type loco became Sweden's last built steam locomotive manufactured during 1952-1953. NOHAB made all 20 of them (SJ No. 1910-1929).
Maximum speed was set to 80 km/h and the pulling force to 8.1 Mp.
Ludvika including Västerås area got four S1 locomotives: 1922, 1924, 1926 and 1927 to
be placed in person traffic, primarily around Ludvika.
Norrland got 7 S1 locomotives (1919,1920,1921,1923,1925,1928 and 1929) for traffic on the Inland Railway, among others,
but also within the areas of Bollnäs and Örnsköldsvik.
S1 1922 was stationed during its operating time in Ludvika traffic district and was abolished in 1973.
Scrapped in Kalmar 1974.

Today, there are five pieces of S1 locos preserved: 1914(SKJ), 1916?(Germany), 1921 (SÅS), 1923 (JVM) and 1928?(England)


S1 blev Sveriges sista tillverkade ånglok år 1953.
NOHAB tog fram 20 stycken (SJ nr 1910-1929).
Största tillåtna hastighet sattes till 80 km/t och dragkraften till 8,1 Mp.
Ludvika med Västerås området tilldelades 4 stycken S1 lok: 1922, 1924, 1926 och 1927 för att
sättas in i person trafik och då främst kring Ludvika.
Norrland fick 7 stycken S1 lok (1919,1920,1921,1923,1925,1928 och 1929) för trafiken på bl.a Inlandsbanan,
men även i trakterna av Bollnäs och Örnsköldsvik.
S1 1922 var under sin driftstid stationerad inom Ludvika trafik
distrikt och slopades 1973. Skrotades i Kalmar 1974.
Idag finns 5 stycken S1-or bevarade: 1914(SkJ), 1916? (Tyskland), 1921(SÅS), 1923 (JVM) och 1928? (England)
