During the first years of the railway construction in Sweden, 2 saddle tank locos were purchased, 1858 respectively 1861,
from Beyer Peacock with number 21 (Odin) and 22 (Thor) for assisting in the building of the main line Gothenburg-Stockholm and after that Stockholm-Uppsala.
During 1896 it was decided to transfer the 2 locomotives to SJ and they received numbers 505 and 506 named Ä.
In 1898, the letter designation was changed to Qä. The locos were dropped around 1900, but 506 (Thor)
was handed over to the Railway Museum 1906 in Gävle.
Max permitted speed 45 km/h


Under de första åren av järnvägs byggandet i Sverige inköptes 1858 resp. 1861 2 fyrkopplade sadeltanklok
från Beyer Peacock med nummer 21(Odin) och 22(Thor) för att verka som
arbetslok under byggandet av västra stambanan Göteborg-Stockholm och därefter Stockholm-Uppsala.
År 1896 beslöts att överföra de 2 loken till SJ och de erhöll nummer 505 och 506 med littera Ä.
År 1898 förandrades litterabeteckningen till Qä. Loken slopades runt sekelskiftet 1900, men 506 (Thor)
överlämnades 1906 till Järnvägsmuseum och finns nu att beskåda i Gävle.
STH sattes till 45 km/t
