SAR Peterborough to Gladstone

A recreation of the original (1960s) Peterborough to Gladstone section of the Port Pirie to Broken Hill line in the mid north-east of South Australia. The line is still in use as a major rail link.

The track follows the original narrow gauge route that existed before the standard gauge diversions were added.

Google Maps, Google Earth, historical records, original yard diagrams and some poetic licence were used to construct this layout.

While simple AI operations are possible, this route has not been optimised for AI. Note that three 'broad gauge' junctions at Gladstone have been deliberately broken to prevent 'narrow gauge' trains using them.
