Caboose CC&O 1050

The CC&O lettering on this Clinchfield caboose represents the original company, the Carolina Clinchfield & Ohio, which started going by simply 'Clinchfield' when it was leased for 999 years by the ACL and the L&N. Based on the PRR N-5 design, these cabooses are similar in appearance to the Northeastern Standard design used by the Reading Co. from the 1920's on and copied by the Western Maryland, Pittsburgh & West Virginia, Lehigh & New England, Lehigh & Hudson River, C&O, and others.
