RS3 FJ&G 103 maroon
Delaware Otsego acquired their first freight railroad in 1970 when D&H petitioned to abandon their Cooperstown Branch. It was named Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley. They operated the line with this former D&H late-model 'upgraded' RS2, complete with steam generator and 'patch-lettered' as #100. It eventually received a blue and yellow paint scheme before receiving DO's 'standard' maroon and gold. This is the Alco RS3 Road Switcher. The RS3 is powered by the 12 cylinder 244 Prime Mover giving 1600 Horse Power. The RS3 was produced by Alco during the years 1950 to 1956. This is the second most popular Alco engine produced with 1,418 units made during the production run. Modeled for use in TrainZ by Mark Hoffman.
