RSD5 Interstate 39 Utah
I'm not a big fan of the orange, gray, and white that the Interstate Railroad painted on their RS3's. Another coal-hauler, the Utah Railway, also applied white paint to its diesels, only to find it turning gray. This is an adaptation of that scheme for the Interstate. Since I'm proto-freelancing here, I might as well upgrade to a six-axle unit.
This is the Alco RS3 Road Switcher. The RS3 is powered by the 12 cylinder 244 Prime Mover giving 1600 Horse Power. The RS3 was produced by Alco during the years 1950 to 1956. This is the second most popular Alco engine produced with 1,418 units made during the production run.
Modeled for use in TrainZ by Mark Hoffman.
