U28B P&LE 2815 v1 NYC

The Espee purchased the first actual production U28B's, which looked just like U25B's... BUT the first units that made it into service were Pittsburgh & Lake Erie's 22-unit fleet, numbered 2800-2821. Over the years, many variations of P&LE's paint schemes were applied with varying consistency. This unit models the U28B's just after the 'New York Central' lettering was removed from the long hood in anticipation of being left out of the Penn Central merger, since P&LE was actually profitable and wanted its independence.
