NYS&W F-28 2-6-0 63
Reskinned as Susquehanna #63, an F-28 class 2-6-0 purchased in the 1890's prior to takeover by the Erie. Intended for coal train service from the mines around Wilkes-Barre, PA on the Wilkes-Barre & Eastern and the Susquehanna Connecting Railroad. This style of lettering follows a builder's photo as published in the book 'Erie Power' by Frederick Westing and Al Staufer. An exceedingly modern 2-6-0 from Baldwin. It is freelanced, but there were some similar engines built with slide valves, and a piston valve version probably existed.
Built: Baldwin, 1918
TE: 13,800 lbs
Weight: 89,000 lbs
Cylinders: 18x24 inch
Drivers: 51 inch diameter
Boiler Pressure: 180 PSI
