GP9 B&O 6570

GP9 B&O 6570

Baltimore & Ohio purchased 194 GP9's from EMD between 1955 and 1958.
They were numbered 6425-6599 (the first 22 were numbered 675-696),
plus passenger-equipped 6600-6618 (the first 6 were #747-752, then
3407-3425). #6571 was an EMD-built GP9m, made with parts from a
traded-in FT. In the late 1960's, B&O received 51 C&O GP9's to help
their power crunch.
All B&O freight Geeps were delivered in the simple blue with yellow
lettering and stripe scheme, and a few found the
