RS2m Monon 56

The Monon bought 9 RS2's, numbered 21-29. They were rebuilt and renumbered 51-59. The lettering changed from white to black.

This is the Alco RS3 Road Switcher. The RS3 is powered by the 12 cylinder 244 Prime Mover giving 1600 Horse Power. The RS3 was produced by Alco during the years 1950 to 1956. This is the second most popular Alco engine produced with 1,418 units made during the production run.
