NZR Red DC class

NZR Red DC class

The NZ DC class were intorduced in 1978 until 1983.85 were built, with 60 still surviving. Engine is a GM 12-645C which produces 1230kw/1650hp. The DC class has a top speed of 100 km/h. The class are rebuilt from the earlier DA class locomotives.
