GSR D19 Rebuilt
Originally the Class 2 built by the Great Southern and Western Railway between 1877 and 1880 at their works at Inchicore, Dublin. Being the first 4-4-0 in Ireland and one of the first in the British Isles, these engines were built for the branchlines of Kerry where severe curves were too much for other engines and were therefore nicknamed the Kerry Bogies. Although primarly used in Kerry, they found uses all across the GSWR network and later the GSR and CIE network until their withdrawal in the early 50s. Some were rebuilt with a U Type Boiler in 1932 and 1943. Those rebuilt were numbered: 2, 5-7, 10, 13, 15, 43-45.
