GSR J15 No.130
Built by the Great Southern and Western Railway at their Works in Inchicore, Dublin in 1882. When GS&WR became part of the Great Southern Railways they brought 111 Engines that were Class 101s, 8 of them were built by Sharp, Stewart & Co, 12 were built by Beyer, Peacock & Co and 91 were built by the GS&WR at Inchicore, Dublin. The GSR gave the GS&WR 101 Class the J15 Class and were by far the most common class of locomotive(both steam and diesel) ever to run in Ireland. Intended to Work Standard Goods Trains but were capable of pulling mainline passenger trains and their reliability meant that they pull any train along any stretch of track in all of Ireland and by the end of the Dieselisation process, half of the J15 Engines were still going and were the last Engines Standing before the scrapman. No.130 was given a Belpaire in 1947. This model is based on the 101 Class after they were rebuilt in the 1920's.
