Glasgow to Falkirk
A representation of the 20 miles or so from Glasgow to Falkirk in Scotland, UK. Departing from Glasgow 'North' (aka Queen Street) the line immediately climbs steeply through Queen Street Tunnel to emerge at Cowlairs. Here, the line from Springburn trails in from the right while the link line to West Glasgow branches off to the right. The former loco shed at Eastfield is passed before the first station at Bishopbriggs. Heading east, the line continues out of the Glasgow suburbs passing Cadder freight yard then reaches the next station at Lenzie. From Lenzie the line travels through attractive countryside to the small town of Croy. After Croy, we reach Greenhill Jcn where there is a connection to the line coming up from Cumbernauld to Stirling. A short run brings us in to Falkirk High staion with this route terminating just beyond the tunnel to the east. A fictional 'run round' has been provided here so you can put the loco on the other end of the train and go back to Glasgow.
