WeddinNSW V6: 1965, Daylight Diversions
Overnight of the 6th March 1965 saw some unusual operations on the cross country line. A bushfire on the Main South near Marulan saw some high profile services diverted via the Blayney-Demondrille line. The Intercapital Express, the Southern Aurora, and the Spirit of Progress were all impacted. This was the only occasion a 42 class loco ran across the Blayney-Demodrille line in regular service. This ficticious scenario is based on these events, with both the north and south bound Intercapital Daylight Express services diverted via the cross country line. Regularly scheduled services have had to find a path around these special guests.
In addition to the two 'Daylight Express' services the session also features a 620/720 railcar set assigned to the Harden-Blayney passenger service, a CPH railcar on the Cowra-Eugowra railcar service, and two goods/mixed goods services behind C30T class loco's.
This session runs as a 'Lineside' demonstration session. There are many trains active at any one time, all driven by AI drivers. Watch them at work, either through the lineside cameras (press '3'), or the onboard cameras (press '1'). To see what is happening elsewhere on the route you can also swap the view from one train to another by holding down the [Ctrl] key, and pressing a numeric key from 1 to 7.
The session ends when both express services have run the length of the route.
Approx run time: 4 hrs
