We all knew that someday the day would come when the Downtown TractionCompany would have to dieselise. They did so by buying secondhand EMD SW1's from varioud sorces. Like the Illinois Traction Company they too woul change their name by dropping the word Traction and adding the word terminal becoming the Downtown Terminal Company,
