Rugz and Shelvz Railroad

Welcome to the Rugz and Shelvz Railroad (aka the Tu-roomz Railroad).  The railroad is the effort of Sam Jones and his wife Sandee. It started as a simple idea of setting up some trains in the house on a rainy afternoon, but has grown a little since then - much to Sandee's chagrin.

It now criss-crosses two rooms on the first floor of the house and has made navigating the house a bit harder. Luckily for Sam, Sandee is very forgiving when it comes to her husband's obsession with trains. She eventually forgave him for cutting holes in the dado in the dining room to allow the trains to travel through the wall to reach table height, but Sam slept on the couch for a few days as a result. Sam has dreams of joining this indoor route with his garden railway the Wiedy and Broadleaf but knows that will need to remain a dream for the moment.

The Rugz and Shelvz Railroad is just a simple route meant for fun and doesn't take itself too seriously.  It has one main loop with a small yard/engine facility.  It travels under, on top of, and around the furniture in the house. It features several bridges as well as a helix spiral that helps it travel back to floor level. Their Siamese cat Tiki (aka Catzilla) frequents the dining room table so she can play with the fascinating trains/cat toys. Many a derailment has ensued as a result.

Visitors can view the trains from the couches or the dining room table.  Enjoy your visit!

Users may do as they wish with the route as long as I am given credit for the original route.
