LRofWY- Garforth-Castleford v1

Another Lost Railway of West Yorkshire., now a cycling/walking route.

I built it because it's a bike ride I love ... and bsed on an old , highly evocative B&W photo of a Class 25 (?) squeezing through the undergrowth as it emerged from the St Aidan's branch.

How the Castleford Viaduct carried heavy coal trains as recently as 1998 is a mystery to me - as long as I have known it, it has been precarious. Nothing aligns, girders split, plating paper-thin. I wouldn't walk it, let alone take a coal train over!
