Limited to a maximum legal speed of 15mph the maximum gross weight that the KRL 16450 can handle with its 16 axels is 1.2 million pounds or 600 tons total (546,000 kg) with the actual car weight at 290,000 pounds and the load limit at 900,000 pounds, this car keeps the per-axel load under 38 tons per axel.
