This is a coal jimmy witch were in use from 1820 up to 1900. In 1875 fifty-five thousand were in use and by 1900 none. Trains of 100 to 200 cars were run and one train of 593 cars about 1.5 miles long. This one is a Lehigh Coal & Navigation witch was leased by the Central Railroad of New Jersey witch had over 5,000 of them in two types.
