Milwaukee EF1C
The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad was electrified in 1915 and ordered 42 locomotives 30 freight and 12 passenger. The freight units were classified as EF1 and the passenger as EP1, the only deference was the gearing and steam generators. They were of the 2-Bo-Bo+Bo-B0-2 wheel arrangement and 112 feet long two units being permanently coupled. Originally numbered 10100 -10111 and 10200-10229 and about 1940 all units were re-number as a two digit number with a prefix of E and a suffix of A or B. At this time booster units were made by removing the cabs and pilot trucks and had a suffix of C or D and run as three and four unit locomotives. Passenger units E-22 and E-23 were streamlined for use on the Columbian an Olympian Hiawatha.
