PRR P70R Deluxe Coach

Created by the American Locomotive & Car Company
Pennsylvania Railroad P70 Heavyweight coach. The '70' in 'P70' referred to the length of the inside part of the coach, excluding the vestibules. The actual length of the car is just over 80'. These cars were the mainstay of passenger traffic in the early part of the 20th century, and many saw use into the late 60's and early 70's. The 'R' version was a 'Deluxe' model which featured individual chairs for each passenger and more plush accommodations than the standard coach.
