PRR MP54 450

The Pennsylvania Railroad used the MP54 MU units for most of their local service between New York and Philadelphia. There were power unit coaches, combines, as well as non-powered trailers. The coaches and trailers sat 72, while the combines sat 40. Most common were the Powered coaches and the trailers. There wasn't a lot of rhyme or reason as to how they were combined in a consist, with trailers mixed in haphazardly with the powered coaches, which themselves faced in whatever direction was handy. Consists of from two to eight cars were common, with both even and odd numbers of cars.
Built by American Locomotive & Car Company based on Scott Struik's CSS&SB interurbans.
