Harlem Transfer Yard
This route is made up of a transfer yard with a round freight terminal and a freight yard on the opposite side of the Harlem River. There is a workin barge that transfers the cars to both sides of the river. Load the barge and then press the arrow like on a turntable. The Harlem Transfer Company was organized in 1898 and was the first of the pocket terminals to be located in the Bronx along the Harlem River. The success of this design led to it being repeated, for in addition to the Harlem Transfer, the Central Railroad of New Jersey Bronx Terminal and the Lehigh Valley Bronx Terminal facilities had circular freighthouses and concentric circular trackage as well. This is my version of one the yards.
