Indooroopilly Road Bridge

This is a road bridge spline, based on the Brisbane River rail crossing at Indooroopilly. The spans are 105 metres nominal length and the bridge places as a spline. There is no track or road on the bridge. While there are attachment points, these are not used, except for height adjustment.

Place any road spline right across the deck, keeping the spline nodes away from the bridge ones so you can adjust the road or the bridge without one interfering with the other. Naturally the road will dip down into the river bed, so insert a new spline node in the road in the middle of the river and use the get spline height tool to obtain the height of the road spline on land. Make the road spline point in the middle of the river the same height as those on land.

The real bridge dates from about 1940, and is dual track rail.
