Falkirk Wheel

The World's only rotating boatlift, connects the Forth & Clyde and Union canals between Glasgow and Edinburgh. The Falkirk Wheel is a 35m high rotating boat lift, the worlds first located at Bonnybridge close to Falkirk. The Falkirk Wheel is designed to raise small boats from one water level to another, lifting 25 metres.

The model operates as a transfer table, with operating gates, rising water level and night lighting. It is floodlit at night.

Boats operate on track at 3 metres above water level. The lift is height adjustable.

The water in the gondolas and approach viaduct is a textured plane, you will need to replace this texture with your own if you want to match a particular water colour in Trainz. The lift places so the ends align with a grid line, so your water may be placed to finish at the ends of the model. Adjust the upstream and downstream levels to suit the water levels in the viaduct and gondolas. You should use the get spline height tool to find the height of the attachment points for track, and set the attached track to those levels.

Installs as Falkirk Wheel in the Britain Scenery Trackside menu.
