Transfer Table Ferry Dronning Margrethe II

A rollingstock transfer modelled as a ferry, the Dronning Margrethe II. The table is a fixed object, 1300 metres long to transfer the ferry from one side of a river to the other, carrying rollingstock. It has three tracks.

The table may be rotated after placing, but the geometry is fixed. The model is suitable for TRS2006 or later versons. Because of the length of travel, it is easier to use the Move Turntable rule available for use in TRS2006 or later, instead of the red arrows, which are remote from the far terminal.

The real ship was built in 1973 at Nakskov (Denmark) as a train/vehicles ferry for DSB for the Nyborg - Korsør service. It is 127.5 metres long, but was later lengthened to 144.6 metres, and then carried two decks of cars.

Rolling stock may be loaded from both ends of the ferry. Placing more than one ferry model will have a detrimental effect on frame rate. See my webpage for additional information, http://www.ianztrainz.com.au/project7.htm

Do not place rollingstock on the centre track at the stern, or you may not be able to click on the red turntable arrow. The Move Turntable rule is very useful to operate the ferry under AI, in TRS2006 and later.
