City Cat Ferry

A driveable catamaran City Cat ferry used on the Brisbane River. The original vessel will load 150 passengers, and is 25 metres long and has a top speed of 30 knots, but is restricted to 26 knots for river use.

There are eight ferries in the first generation used by the Brisbane City Council. A script by Peter Denhert allows the ferries to be renamed from within Driver, choosing from the eight names used on the original ferries. The City Cats are named after the Aboriginal place names for various parts of the Brisbane River and adjacent areas.

The ferry operates on invisible track 3 metres above water level, and uses my City Cat landing terminal models. More details on operation are given on my website project pages.

The ferry is passenger enabled, it will load up to 20 passengers at my City Cat landings by using the invisible track furthest from each landing.
