Talyllyn Railway No. 4 'Edward Thomas'-Air Pump

Talyllyn No. 4 is a Kerr Stuart 'Tattoo' Class bought secondhand from the Corris Rly. along with No. 3 'Sir Hadyn.' The engine was built in 1921 and aquired by the Talyllyn in 1951, being named after the former manager at that time. He entered service in 1952 and became the first British engine to be fitted with a Giesl ejector, which he held until 1969. Until 2000 Edward Thomas bore the guise of Peter Sam, his fictional counterpart. Starting in 200, he wore the BR black scheme he might have recieved on the Corris Rly. had the railway not gone out of business. After his latest overhaul, Edward Thomas has worn the standard(if there has been such a thing since the 1980's) Talyllyn 'Deep Bronze' with black trim and yellow lining.
