WVRR No. 33 - Late 1930s
Washoe Valley Railway No. 33 is a 2-8-2 built in 1922 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. This batch of locomotives was ordered as a dual service locomotive to replace the road's aging heavy locomotives, most of which were built prior to 1905, and was the largest set of locomotives the road ordered prior to WWII. Each is named after some pertinent Pleistocene landform or fauna that roamed the wilds of Nevada in the last ice age.
