Railway Development Strategy of the Russian Federation up to 2030 sets
in a number of priorities of JSC RZD the introduction of innovative technologies.
The company attaches great importance to the creation of new types of locomotives,
including locomotives with mnogodizelnoy power plant.
The purpose of the locomotives with mnogodizelnoy power plant is to increase fuel economy,
reduction of harmful emissions, improve working conditions drivers.
One of the trends in this area is to create a comprehensive modernization project
with the replacement of diesel power plants, equipment, control systems, control panels.
The first step in creating mnogodizelnyh locomotives was the development of locomotives dvuhdizelnyh CHMEZ.
Currently, the Moscow railway locomotives are six dvuhdizelnyh.
