Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad
'The Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad' is a terrain generated map of the The Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad, that runs from Wheeling WV to Huron OH. Originally built in 1871, it was aquired by the Nickel Plate Road in 1949, and merged into the Norfolk and Western Railway in 1988. A new regional railroad reused the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway name in 1990 when it acquired most of the former W&LE from the N&W, including the Pittsburgh & West Virginia Railroad. There are no 'Tiger Lines' shown, but small signs, indicating the location of towns, have been placed along the tracks so that conditions in those areas, (Multiple track, yards, roads ,waterways, etc.) can be accessed using USGS topo maps. The map has 162 miles of track, 2370 baseboards, and covers 474 sq miles. This map can be merged with my Pittsburgh & West Virginia map at Pittsburgh Junction, near Hopedale Ohio. A TrainzMap of the route is available in the content folder. Open the file in Contant Manager, click on 'Edit in Explorer', and look for the 'W&LETrainzMap.jpg'
