Applachian & Ohio Railroad
The Applachian & Ohio Railroad is a terrain generated map of the The Applachian & Ohio Railroad, a class 3 railroad. The railroad operates 158 miles of rail line, between Grafton WV and Cowen, WV. Coal is the primary commodity the A&O transports, from the several coal mines it serves. Other freight includes logs, lumber, and chemicals. The Appalachian and Ohio interchanges with the CSXT at Grafton, WV. It also connects with three short line railroads: the Beech Mountain RR at Alexander, WV; the Elk River RR at Burnsville Junction, WV; and the West Virginia Central at Tygart Junction, WV.
There are no 'Tiger Lines, shown, but small signs, indicating the location of towns, have been placed along the tracks so that conditions in those areas, (Multiple track, yards, roads ,waterways, etc.) can be accessed using Google Maps. Since the Applachian & Ohio RR is currently running everyday operations, Google Maps will give you a much more accurate discription of the route. The map has 158 miles of track, ( 118 between Grafton & Cowen), 1928 baseboards, and covers 386 sq miles. A TrainzMap of the route is available in the content folder. Open the file in Contant Manager, click on 'Edit in Explorer', and look for the A&O RR Map.jpg
