Salville Light Railway 1982

In 1982, the Salville Light Railway had expanded further, reaching the suburb of Hearthside, along the shores of Falbot Bay. In the intervening time, the fleet of wembly coaches were reduced to but two, but they are supplemented with two Ffestiniog-pattern open cars. More coaches were constructed; four NWNGR replica cars, and four large, modern cars to eventually serve in Port Falbot services. However, that fateful day will be delayed, as the Port Falbot council removed the tracks within the town to lay new roadways in the Port/Industrial district. As such, there is planning in the works to bypass through the other side of Port Falbot through the foothills to reach the connection with the BR network. Further locomotives are also being sought, whether for hire or not in order to support the expanded services.
