SR Green Terrier E735 ('Clapham')

The 'Terriers' were apparently so named because they were small and agile. Designed by William Stroudley for the LBSC Railway, 50 Locomotives were built between 1872 and 1880. A few were sold off for use on light railways, rebuilding of the truncated LBSCR fleet to A1X specification (new boilers and an extended smokebox) took place in 1911. A few were sold off for use on light railways and 10 are preserved. This model represents 'Clapham' in SR Green, which it wore post-nationalization. The reason for the E-prefix was presented by the London and South Western, who had bought Clapham second-hand.
