Still another longstanding project of mine, the fabled Empire Builder, which ran under the GN herald from the early 20th century through the end of private passenger service and still runs under Amtrak to this day. The Builder ran with 2 mail storage cars, most of the passenger baggage went into the baggage dormitory, which was added after the RPO cars began using the baggage area for extra mail storage. That seems like a lot of mail, but remember, this was a time when there were no cell phones, email, or other means of written communication. My storage mail car is set up to handle baggage, mail, and express product. Freelanced from photos obtained on the internet.
