Back when I was a young man, you rarely if ever saw a taxi that was not a Checker Marathon. In my youth I thought they were the ugliest automobile I ever saw. But they were designed for a purpose, and they were probably the first automobiles to run 3 or 400,000 miles before they got scrapped. Set up for traffic use with night lighting.
