Amtrak P30CH #710

The P30CH or the Pooch was the first new passenger engine built for Amtrak. Being based
on GE's succesful C30-7, the P30CH was the go to locomotive for Amtraks long distance services and
Auto-Train service. However the P30s were not liked by crews for various reasons. And when the F40PH
started showing up on the scene, Amtrak being neglecting maintenance on the P30s thus causing
crews to dislike them even more. A number would be loaned out to the Southern Pacific but after that?
All of them would be scrapped.
