Union Pacific Steam Fleet Restoration
In 2017, UP didn’t see preserving their steam engines were worth it and decided to put all of them in order. UP signed a deal with the Canadian Government to buy Victoria Island. So they did. The built 1,000 miles of track for the engines to continue their duties like they did when they were under steam. Diesels were accomedated with too to ensure the efficency of the steamies. Many Big Boys were assigned with the job to haul heavy loads. And the FEF-3 or the Northerns, were assigned to haul medium loads
