BR 949 0-8-0
Colonel Stephens' 'White Elephant', Hecate was one of only 3 0-8-0 locos to be used outside of the mainline operations in the UK. She was far too large and carried far too little coal for her intended use on the Kent & East Sussex railway and was eventually swapped with the SR for a lighter 0-6-0. She saw service as a heavy shunter in Tonbridge, Guildford and Nine Elms. (Reskin Communist)
In 1954, a collision caused the scrapping of this good looking loco.
