690 of these wagons were built at Ashford works between 1974 and 1980. Capable of carrying 75 tons of steel, they formed the backbone of BR's steel-carrying fleet over the next few decades. Many were modified for particular loads but represented here is an original condition BBA in the livery they wore when new.
