CLMW Lightweight Crew Dorm - 1971

Lightweight cars make up the backbone of rail passenger service in the United States. The CLMW was no stranger to this type of railroad car, and this particular type is a crew dorm car, suitable for long distance trains. The paint scheme featured on this car is the paint CLMW was using right before the 1971 Amtrak takeover of long distance trains, however the scheme has not changed since then and as such would look at home behind the CLMW freight diesel electrics of today. CLMW crew dorm cars were found on overnight long distance trains, and featured several roomettes alongside a lounge area to give onboard staff a place to relax, eat and sleep when they were not on duty.
