D&RGW 66000 series boxcar

The Rio Grande acquired 1,500 of these cars from Pullman in 1916. They were copies of an earlier class of Rock Island cars, with very few changes. Over the years, all cars received AB brake valves, which replaced the original K triple valve. This model represents cars equipped with the AB brake system. One car of this class remained in revenue service as late as 1965, and several have been preserved.
