Eureka & Palisade 4 Eureka

Eureka & Palisade's 4, the Eureka. Built by Baldwin in 1875 as builder's number 3763. The #4 served the E&P with few changes until 1896, when the locomotive was sold to the Sierra Nevada Wood & Lumber Co, where it was converted to an oil burner. In 1939 the locomotive was sold to Warner Brothers for use in movies. The locomotive remained at WB until 1979, when it was sold to Old Vegas, an Old Western tourist attaction in Henderson NV. While there the locomotive was displayed under a shed between two other buildings. In 1985 one of those two buildings caught fire, and the shed collapsed onto the engine. The locomotive was purchased a year later by Dan Markoff, who restored the locomotive to operating condition.
