ALCo Ubjat 2-4-2T Enginespec
In the 1910s and 1920s, American Locomotive Company had a strong business building saddle-tank switchers. 0-4-0Ts and 0-6-0Ts were the primary products, constructed for industrial plants and contractors. A few examples were built with carrying trucks for shortline road service, including one 2-4-2T for the Magma Arizona Railroad (the prototype for this model.) Steam locomotive builders assigned code words to catalog locomotives for ease of ordering. Magma Arizona 1 was used as the catalog example of a code word Ubjat 2-4-2T.
