Midwest Central - V2 BETA1
Midwest Central - Release 2. Beta 1 - 22 October 2007
Midwest Central is a fictional short line operating through the busy heartland of the United States. An update to the original MidCen route, Release 2 adds 15 miles of new mainline, now connecting to the BNSF at East Shelton, and to the mine and ski-areas at South Claremont.
Release 2 covers 185 baseboards and adds a number of new industries, including a brickworks, brewery, clay pit and iron ore processing. The discovery of oil in the hill country to the east led to two oil fields and a related refinery west of Caldwell. The route provides passenger service through five Amtrak stations. Other updates include new roundhouses and stations by Andi06 and BNSF50's fine grade crossings.
Available with Beta1 are three sessions: A Base Session for designing your own sessions using on the MidCen map, and two single-driver sessions, 'Ski Train' and 'Switch East Shelton.' Find them and other MidCen content by searching for my userid: crb001. CAUTION: If you download any Midwest Central operating sessions, make sure they are specific to Release 2. Sessions created for the original, MidCen Build 360, will not work with this map, and vice versa.
Before operating Midwest Central, do yourself a favor and visit the MidCen website, where you'll find a wealth of information about the route, including a printable system map, operations manual, missing dependencies and the latest bug fix information. In addition, you'll find printable Form 19 train orders for the downloadable sessions. http://trains.0catch.com.
