WeddinNSW V6 for TRS22 SP4

Incorporating updates/restorations of the following routes, with permission (and thanks) ...

'Boorowa Branch' by P.Gibbons
'Lines to the Lachlan' by NSWGR_46class
'Southlines' by tomtre
'WeddinNSW' by FootplatePhil

This route is a virtual real scale model of the now closed NSWGR cross country line linking Blayney on the Main West to Demondrille on the Main South line, and the two branch lines linking Grenfell and Eugowra to Cowra. In addition to the cross country line the route includes a 70 km dual track section of the Main South, from Galong to Cootamundra, and the Galong-Boorowa branch. Total route length is over 400 kms.

The creators intent has been to use only content included with the game (TS2022 base + TANE Assets pack, without any optional/regional route downloads), or content available to registered Trainz users for free via the DLS. If you find that an asset which doesn't meet this criteria has snuck in please let FootplatePhil know.

There are several AI driven 'lineside' demonstration sessions also available on the DLS. These sessions are set across the period 1959 to 1967. In addition to show casing the various rolling stock typically in use on the lines modelled, the sessions reflect the continuing changes in railway infrastructure over that decade. As a result, some infrastructure appears only in the relevant sessions, and is not included in the 'base' route. Therefore, for the 'full' WeddinNSW experience, you should also download these sessions...

'WeddinNSW: 1965, Daylight Diversions'
'WeddinNSW: 1967, Harvest Gold'

'WeddinNSW: Base Session'

I make no claims about the operational accuracy of any of these sessions! If you would like to set up your own session I suggest you start by cloning the 'Base' session. This includes some basic session controls, such as those required for turntable operations. It also includes the buildings and infrastructure still in place in the late 1950's.

Version 6.0 Updated for operation in TRS22 SP4. Various fixes and tweaks.

Background:
'WeddinNSW V6' is nominally set in the mid 1950's to late 1960's, when both steam and diesel operated simultaneously. The model probably presents a rosier picture than is strictly accurate. At that time government spending on infrastructure and maintenance was low, and the rail network was looking a little run down. While innovations in grain handling provided an economic boost to the rural rail network, and new diesel locos and bulk grain silos were being introduced to handle it, general rail traffic had declined in recent years, due to competition from road transport and the motor car.

The Grenfell, Eugowra, and Boorowa branch lines were classified as pioneer lines. Parts of the lines are unfenced, and they were built using light (60 pound) rail, with ash and earth ballast. Passenger operations on all three branchlines ceased in 1974. Goods services were withdrawn in 1987 (Boorowa branch) and 1991 (Grenfell and Eugowra branches), and the lines 'mothballed', although some parts were subsequently reopened for a period for limited traffic (seasonal wheat haulage out of Greenethorpe for example, which continued into the new century). Passenger services on the Blayney-Harden cross country line were replaced by a bus service in 1983, and goods traffic was suspended in stages, between 2007 and 2009.

'WeddinNSW' has been lovingly hand crafted (over 20 years) by its creators using data from topographical maps, and the NSW 1932 Curve and Gradient Diagrams. More recently Google Earth and DEM data has also been helpful. Detailing is based on historical research, numerous site visits (with camera), a
